Some other stuff

Is this the correct way to message you? If not, please correct my breach in etiquette. Question 1: Is there any way to archive our in-depth discussion on my talk page about Templates? I don't know if I can store it somehow and remove it from the talk page to clean things up or not. Likewise for stuff that I start on but don't get a chance to finish (ie, the "In Progress" section of my talk page).
Question 2: I'm going to be losing my access to the game. Are there any other formatting/cleanup tasks that need to be done on the wiki that don't require pulling data from the game? I'm willing to help out, but if all we need is content right now, then I'll just be MIA until game launch. Dedridd 13:31, February 2, 2006 (PST)

Yes, correct - when starting a new conversation, just put it wherever necessary, in this case on the appropriate users talk page, or perhaps an article talk page if it's about an article. Then just watch that page as the entire conversation would be held there, in this case, here. I'll archive your talk page, see the archival policy for some more help. Anyway, yes there's a ton to do! I don't have any of these games nor am I particularly interested in amy of them, or for that matter, any game (except perhaps D&D, but I don't actually play it, no group) - I just hang around and Commentate (commentators are those elite infantry of editing who know the tricks - like me lol) there is organization, migrating od content already present on the Knowledge Base, moving mis-named pages, ectera ectera ectera. Not to mention sysop stuff like watching for vandalism (RC patrol, NP patrol) and techie backend stuff! If you really want to keep helping, gimme your IM (left a note on your page, reply to that there) and I'll throw you stuff that needs to be done as I find it - as time goes on, you'll probably start to notice stuff like that on your own. Anyway, I gotta go finish the system messages I was working with... reply and I'll notice ASAP like. (post by Peerless at {{{1}}} - see his talk and contribs.) 14:03, February 2, 2006 (PST)
Uh, what archival policy? Your link doesn't seem to lead to anywhere. Heh! Ok, I'm going to assume that whatever you did is what's responsible for all the "table removed" tags on my talk page. So now I just need to know where to access that stuff at. I also understand about you being the techie expert. I like the power of the templates, and wouldn't mind organizing some stuff, but I still have a lot to learn - like how to "rename" a page, and how to find everything that was pointing to it by name (hmmm, I see a "What links here" link on the left as I'm writing this - I'll investigate). So I'm willing to help, but my skillset is limited right now, as is my time. I only have a few hours at night to do things, and that'll have to be split between the wiki and playing the game! We'll work it out though. Dedridd 15:23, February 2, 2006 (PST)
Gah I'm getting lost - I'm sure I had an archival info page set up... anyway, yes - it's a button called 'move page' up top, or at this point, just 'move'. And I'll undo the tables thing, I thought you were done with them, and i didn't want them cluttering the archival. You don't archive stuff will it's dead, and at the moment only the first little conversation is dead. The rest is active, when more is dead (usually about three pages vertically on a 1024x768 screen, or 5 normal-sized conversations, or one or two very large conversations with multiple paricipants) I'll walk you through archiving. (post by Peerless at {{{1}}} - see his talk and contribs.) 15:49, February 2, 2006 (PST)
Well, hit me via ICQ or email (I'm assuming you can see my email address since you're an admin) with one or two things you'd like me to look at fixing up. I would rather not initiate ICQ conversations, cause I don't want to inadvertantly bug SilverSide. If you have your own account on another IM format, I can set one of those up as well. ps - What 'knowledge base' were you referring to above? Dedridd 11:39, February 6, 2006 (PST)
The irc.stratics.org port 6667 isn't working for me. Keep updating the site message - I'll keep an eye on it. Dedridd 18:12, February 6, 2006 (PST)

Nic's IRC

No IRC for me during the day. My employer frowns on such things, and goes out of its way to prevent me from doing them. Nic 08:06, February 10, 2006 (PST)

Lame. lol (post by Peerless at {{{1}}} - see his talk and contribs.) 14:37, February 14, 2006 (PST)

Sysop on DNDwiki

Could you hit me up with sysop privs on dndwiki and then I can start deleting the terminated pages. -- koolkat 09:33, February 13, 2006 (PST)

Done. (post by Peerless at {{{1}}} - see his talk and contribs.) 14:37, February 14, 2006 (PST)

Browser issues

Hi, just to let you know that IE users have reported problems on the DDO forums (http://www.ddo.com/forums/showpost.php?p=442803&postcount=4). I myself also have some weird issues with Firefox under Linux. I haven't tried (nor had the time) to investigate them yet -- Tihocan 09:04, February 14, 2006 (PST)

A thread with an uploaded screenshot of an IE issue: http://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27602 By the way should I actually report this to you or to Xevo? -- Tihocan 13:35, February 14, 2006 (PST)
Xevo. I posted there. Also, in the future, please put new topics at the bottom of the page, not the top - I didn't reply to your first two posts because even though it said my user talk page had ben updated, I couldn't find the new message. I never look at the top, as the top of anything is the oldest, and the bottom us newest. (post by Peerless at {{{1}}} - see his talk and contribs.) 14:37, February 14, 2006 (PST)
